I am so excited to start blogging about my favorite thing on the planet!
If you didn’t already notice, this blog will be all about beauty, whether it involves makeup, skin care, hair care, or even nail care, it will all be here! It will focus on makeup more than anything else, because that is my where my heart is. ❤
I plan on posting things such as; product reviews, unboxings, swatches and monthly favorites.
Since this is my first post, I want to tell you all a bit about myself!
My love for beauty started a long time ago, when I was just a little girl. I would watch my mother get ready for work in the mornings and couldn’t help but stare. I was so intrigued and wanted to get my hands on makeup as soon as possible. I remember constantly asking for her old makeup when she was going to throw it away or using my hard earned allowance to purchase my own. As time progressed, I spent hours in front of my mirror in my bedroom trying every look I could come up with. I eventually taught myself how to apply my makeup on myself correctly. I did this with lots and lots of practice and by the time YouTube came around, I was watching makeup tutorials all day long. There are a few beauty influencers that I have gotten my inspiration from. Some of them include: Linda Hallberg, KathleenLights, Jaclyn Hill, Tati Westbrook and Shaaanxo. They make me feel like my dreams are achievable!
It took me a while to get back to school after I graduated from high school. I dabbled in cosmetology, but soon learned that in cosmetology school, much of the focus was on hair and nails and I knew that wasn’t what I wanted to do. So, yes, I ended up being a beauty school drop out. I also came to the realization that I didn’t enjoy putting makeup on others as much as I enjoyed putting in on myself, so being a makeup artist was out of the question too. At this point, I was quite discouraged and felt like makeup was just going to have to be a hobby instead of a career. I ended up going to university for Nursing because I thought it was a safe choice, until I had an epiphany one night!! I didn’t need to give up on my passion just because the few things I tried didn’t work out, there are still so many options out there! I’m still working towards my Bachelor’s Degree, but focusing more on Chemistry so that I can go into the business of creating makeup as a cosmetic chemist, or even working on a product development team for a high end cosmetics brand.
For now, I will continue with my degree while working full-time and keeping up with this new and exciting adventure as a beauty blogger!!
